Airfield Maintenance Engineer

Airport Maintenance · Bengaluru, Karnataka · Full-time

The role

You look after the surfaces aircraft actually touch: runways, taxiways and aprons. That means scheduled inspection, planned repair, and being the person who calls it when a pavement defect stops being cosmetic.

What you will do

  • Inspect runway, taxiway and apron pavement on a defined cycle and log findings against condition standards
  • Plan and supervise pavement repair, joint sealing and surface treatment works
  • Oversee airfield ground lighting maintenance with the electrical team
  • Maintain runway markings and airfield signage to published standards
  • Raise and track defect reports through to closure
  • Coordinate works around operational hours so movements are not disrupted

What you need

  • 3+ years in airfield, highway or heavy civil pavement maintenance
  • Working knowledge of pavement condition assessment and repair methods
  • Comfortable reading site drawings and setting out works
  • Able to supervise contractor crews and hold them to a standard
  • Willing to work night and early-morning shifts when the airfield is quiet

Nice to have

  • Prior airport or airside experience
  • Familiarity with ICAO Annex 14 or DGCA aerodrome requirements
  • Airside driving permit
