Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician

The role
Forming, fitting and joining aircraft structural sheet metal to drawing, to tolerance, with the paperwork to prove it.
What you will do
- Form, trim and fit aluminium structural components to engineering drawings
- Carry out riveting, fastening and structural joining to specification
- Work from drawings, work instructions and process specifications
- Use precision measuring equipment and record dimensional results
- Complete build documentation and traceability records
- Work with quality on non-conformance and rework
What you need
- 2+ years in aircraft, precision sheet metal or comparable fabrication
- Confident reading engineering drawings and GD&T
- Practical riveting and fastening skill
- Precision measurement discipline
- Understanding of why traceability exists in this industry
Nice to have
- Prior aerospace or defence manufacturing
- Composite repair exposure
- Awareness of AS9100 or similar quality systems
